Several of you know that I try to steer away from political discussion but after letting the election hype die down from last week, I wanted to post on this.
I want to know if you are cynical or optimistic about the next administration?
(note: Play nicely…Please don’t flame someone for expressing an opinion…I want you guys to be honest)
It’s so easy to get wrapped up in party politics that we oversee the fact that regardless of which party the candidate belongs to, we will still have to call them the president. I feel like we still have to hope for the best for our country.
Having said that, as citizens of this great country, we have the right to criticize….but where’s the line?
Ok, it’s your turn…chime in folks.
I'm Jad. I'm married to a beautiful wife, live in the beautiful city of Nashville and have a beautiful life. First and foremost, I'm a Christian. Secondarily, I'm an attorney, a musician, and a big 'ol kid.

I didn’t vote for Obama, but that don’t take away that he is my president. It is my duty to pray for him. I pray that God leads him in all that he does. I pray he does a great job for our nation. No matter who won the election, it will be a tough job to handle.
Big Z
I do feel somewhat cynical, but I am choosing to pray that I will be proven wrong.
Optimistic. I feel like things are going to start looking up soon.
I don’t think we know enough about him to be cynical yet, which I personally think is dangerous to elect a president we know very little about. However, I am choosing optimism since this far left and far right tug of war is obviously not working. We’ll know soon enough…
I agree w/BigZ
@Big Z: I agree with you…very wise words.
Just to chime in…I know I kind of set this up in the post but I just feel like so many times we immediately consider people from the party opposite in which we vote to be “the enemy” and it’s so counter productive. I think it’s part of what makes our political system kind of inept.
I just pray that our president leads us in the right direction.
To clarify I’m quite optimistic.
I would have to say that I’m more curious than anything. I didn’t vote for Obama and lots of people I know think he’s the worst thing that could ever happen to our Nation but I think everyone is over-reacting (including those who think he’s the best thing since sliced bread).
I’m curious to see what the next four years will be like.
