Thursday’s Question: How Productive Are You? October 23, 2008

Sometimes it’s a REAL struggle to stay on task at work.  Does anyone else ever feel that?  Between checking my blog, the twitter feed, fantasy football, facebook (which is my newest obsession), checking out new music, and just general random intra-net-web surfing….I find it hard to focus.  All of it is totlally self-imposed but still it’s tough.

A survey compiled by Salary.com and AOL revealed that the average American wastes more than two hours a day at work. TWO FULL HOURS.  This costs employers a staggering $759 billion a year.

So, my Thursday’s Question to you is:  How Productive Are You?

Chime in and let me know if you have this problem or if you’re the task-master and can get anything done under any circumstance.  Let me know how you do it too!

As I discovered the other day this poll feature on wordpress is amazing…but what they didn’t realize is that the poll feature will be revolutionary in the Stacked Actors Thursday’s Question blog posts.

So even if you don’t want to comment (which I’m highly encouraging you to do) you can still vote in the poll.  Let me know where you’re MOST productive.

If I have alot on my plate,I find it pretty easy to stay on task. Its those times when things seem to run a little slow that I have a VERY hard time concentrating.

Because I work from home, obviously, that’s the most productive place for me….I mix my “work” w/my HOUSE “work”… so I’m constantly busy. But it takes a lot to motivate me, since I LOVE sleeping and reading and doing nothing! (I sure hope God doesn’t get on to me too bad when we meet, I know I should be doing more)…

btw, why aren’t I freinds w/you on Facebook??? You need to make it happen….

This is a tough one for me. I’m given freedom to operate and complete projects at my work. When I think I have some “free time”, I check blogs and personal email. Maybe that happens a little too often on some days.

If I were to introduce facebook, twitter, etc. to my current schedule, I would be worthless.

Umm.. I am finding that when I was first into the blog thing.. i would check blogs all day long.. a minute here.. a minute there. But now that I am used to it now I look at all my blogs maybe 2x a day… and maybe send a couple personal email here and there. But at my job the block most blogs that end in .wordpress or blogspot.. and the same for twitter and any social networking sites. I guess thats what you get when you for a HUGE company with over 3000 employees.
