It’s no secret that this week, Sarah Palin has quickly stepped into the media limelight. In fact, Palin could have had the best week ever.
Along with the immediate spotlight, it seems that she is getting hit from all sides of the media, including the tabloids. Her family is under scrutiny and all of the sudden every blogger in the blogosphere feels the need to fabricate some form of controversy. Truth seems that she seems pretty stinkin’ normal…and I admire her for that.

This type of exposure should probably be expected but it makes me kind of angry. Her career is politics, just like yours might be an engineer or an architect, etc. This is no reason to implore into the private depths of her family life. But is just seems like we always want to know “the dirt” on someone.

Having stated my opinion on Palin’s exploitation, I am now posing Thursday’s Question(s):
Why is our society OBSESSED with finding out about other people’s lives?
Why do we want to constantly tear people down when their intentions may be good? What does this say about society? What does it mean? Are we a nation of voyeurs?
I'm Jad. I'm married to a beautiful wife, live in the beautiful city of Nashville and have a beautiful life. First and foremost, I'm a Christian. Secondarily, I'm an attorney, a musician, and a big 'ol kid.

I, like you, feel like there are certain things that should be allowed to remain private, I don’t care who you are. And it amazed me that smearing Palin as soon as possible was front and center on so many peoples agendas. Why can’t the media point out the good first and foremost? We are all ambulance chasers, we want the dirt, the down and dirty. Maybe it is so that we, ourselves, can feel better about our own lives by pointing out the evil in others. Still, I think she is to be commended for her life and her pursuit of the american dream in her life.
We are all sick. Sick with sin. Thanks, Adam. I am working on not gossiping in my own life right now. It’s hard, I probably stumbled today. If we realize that gossiping about our friends, family, or associates is no different that what the main stream media is doing to the Palin family, then it can help us put it in perspective. Maybe al little off the subject, but what kills me is that 9/11 saved Bill Clinton. All of a sudden no one remembers what he did in the White House. Unfortunately, I was probably someone back then that said “what’s the big deal.” Well, I have grown a lot in the last eight years and come on. In the oval office? This lying, cheating President is now used as a positive example by his party. Hello, people! He lied on camera to our faces. This is their “Reagan.” Give me a break. Sorry for ranting.
@Jody: Did you read the question correctly?
To justify our own faults, which we all have. Anything is acceptable if everyone is doing it…
wow…brought Bill into this. I think there is more to this…thanks for cutting it short Jody. Good post Jad. I love her already for having a DS baby. They are the cutest things in the world! aww…I miss my brother…
