If you’re new here, check this out and this out.

Although this looks bad, I’m not that upset:

Here’s the numbers:

5/27/08:  201 lbs.
6/02/08:  199 lbs.
6/09/08:  197.5 lbs.
6/16/08:  196.5 lbs.
6/23/08:  198.5 lbs.
6/30/08:  196.5 lbs.
7/07/08:  195.5 lbs.
7/14/08:   199 lbs.
Goal = 185 lbs.

As some of you may have noticed, I didn’t post last week’s update but I did weigh in.  I don’t have pics to prove it but just take my word for it that I weighed in at 195.5.  Then today I post 199.  That’s right 199, the heaviest that I’ve been since 6/2.

Here’s why I’m not upset though:

  • I Feel GREAT.
  • I’m getting plenty of exercise between Swimming, Cycling, Sand Volleyball and Tennis.
  • I’ve actually trimmed down despite the shaky numbers.
  • I ate Terribly this weekend and expected to see worse.

I think that I will probably push past this “weight loss barrier” in the next 2-3 weeks.  As most fitness experts will tell you (and I DON”T claim to be one) you will begin building muscle mass when you begin a workout regimen; and muscle tissue weighs more than fatty tissue.  Therefore, I think in the next few weeks my metabolism should kick in and really start to burn some of this fat after I’ve built up some good muscle mass.  Of course, I could totally be wrong.

I’m not going to lie though, the 199 is probably from all the Ice Cream, Reeces, Twix, cupcakes, and double from Wendy’s which I ate over the weekend.  Writing this down makes me seem like a hog.

Eat Better, Eat Better, Eat Better, Eat Better.

Jad,

You need only to read about corn syrup or watch the doc. “King Corn”. It will change the way you think about food. Way more than any other culture we pour the sugars on. So much so that over the last 50 years we have taken a vegetable and figured out how to us it to sweeten EVERYTHING. Cut that stuff out and severely limit sugar intake and you will get there… maybe not as fast as on a diet but over time your body will become a power house.

That’s the road I started about a month ago and.. forget how much I’m losing that is way secondary to they way I feel.

You can do it man.

JAD!! Your doing FABULOUS! You could be like me and be over 40, worked out for FIVE YEARS, hired a personal trainer AND nutritionist and worked even harder these last four months only to lose…………………… ZERO lb’s. Yeah, I said it…truth and all…. DEPRESSSSSSS-ING!! But now I’ve had to go to an Endocrinologist and found out all along, it’s quite possibly my thyroid. They couldn’t have found that SIX YEARS AGO????? I hate getting old. It sucks!

But on a good note…… I LOVE seeing you play on the Worship Team!! I didn’t know you could bongo AND tamborine all at the same time… I just love the way you worship!!!!

@ Everyone: Thanks for the positive comments.

@ Anne: You only see one foot in this picture. You should see the other one. It’s nasty.

@ OCD: I hate getting old too. Everything is sore.
