Thursday’s Question: Desert Island Fast Food Restaurant June 12, 2008

Ok gang, I’ve been writing some pretty thick posts recently especially when it comes to Thursday’s Questions.  So, in an attempt to lighten things up I pose today’s question:

If you were stranded on a desert island and there was only one fast food restaurant, what would it be?

Let’s just make sure everyone is on the same page here…fast food = drive thru window, order at a counter, etc. No casual dining allowed!

Choose carefully…consider that you’ll likely eat at this establishment for every meal, every day, for the rest of your life.  The strategy is what you can tolerate over and over again or which joint has a large enough variety on the menu, breakfast, etc.  Your choice.

So tell me, what is your desert island fast food joint?

As much as I love my Sonic drinks, I’m gonna have to go with Wendy’s. Beef, chicken, salad, baked potato, fries, fruit, frosty…so many options.

I am going with Sonic. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Although the fries are not as good as other places, they have tator tots and cheese sticks for when you get tired of fries. Plus, they have so many different types of ice cream, shakes, etc. and I love ice cream. Oh, and they have salads for when I would want to be healthy (not very often).

I think i would have to rock some Burger King. Flamed grilled doesnt get old NEARLY as fast as heat lamp thawed……

@ wifey: I knew you’d go with Sonic. We don’t really even eat there that much, but I knew you’d pick it. Oh and I think the correct spelling is “tater” tots.

@ jwo: I love the King’s coffee too!

My decision is still pending.

@ Jad: See if I ever call you and let you know of a spelling error on the front page of your blog again. But I love you anyway.

I’d go Wendy’s also. Love the variety…if you’re on a hot desert island you’d have to be able to get a Frosty, chili for those cooler evenings. Plus their french fries aren’t that good, so maybe I would be too huge when rescued.

I have to say Wendy’s. I thought of Taco Bell but realized that my system could probably not take it everyday.

8. Jad - June 12, 2008

Looks like Wendy’s is in the lead.

@ GI: I love Taco Bell too but I’m with you. If I knew my body could handle it I would be all over the Bell.

Taco Bell!!!!!!!
I’ll die within a week.

Going with Wendy’s. Sonic, if happy hour was all day.

No McDonalds on here? Wow.

@ jarrod: Don’t know if you’d DIE within a week but I know you’d at least be uncomfortable.

@ Big Z: Thanks for chiming in bro…you mean you wouldn’t do whattaburger?

I think I would have to go with Jack in the Box. Really good burgers, good fries, plenty of variety – and real milk milkshakes. All made fresh when you order. What’s not to like?

13. Jad - June 13, 2008

@ Tank: I knew you’d say JITB. You actually turned me on to the Box and I’ve been very pleased. However, sometimes it’s hit or miss on quality.

So, here’s my choice: Sonic.

The reason: A decent breakfast menu, lots of variety and specials all the time, and an extensive dessert menu. It’s just well rounded.

Second: Arby’s, especially if there were a breakfast menu.

I think Captain Ds. You can get fish, shrimp, or chicken. Their fries are great, and they have lots of sides. Plus you can get grilled stuff which is healthy. I know this won’t be a popular choice but I have thought this through, and I am sticking with the FISH!

15. Jad - June 13, 2008

@ Cortni: Did you REALLY play the fast food fish card???

16. cortni - June 13, 2008

I definately love me some fast food fish. But I mean I like the high end stuff not LOng Johns!

17. Adam - June 14, 2008

I dunno.. My toss up is between chik-fila or Subway.. Maybe Subway becasue if i wanted my Hoagie hot they could “toast it” for me.
Ok.. Definitely Subway hats my pick

Maybe once the Sonic is Open in my area (we really dont have them in PA) I would change my choice.. but that wont be until the fall. So I will stick with Subway.

18. Jad - June 14, 2008

I just don’t understand how someone could live without a Sonic.

**Update** I’ve recently been told that Arby’s has breakfast menu items. Therefore, with this new evidence, the jury is still out on the choice.
