I am posting as an update to last week’s post and as part of the ragamuffintop challenge as well.
As a quick refresher; over at ragamuffin soul, ‘los has issued a weight loss challenge and I decided to take the bait. No big prize, just health. I am so much happier when I’m in shape and plus I need to lose the pounds. Therefore after one week…here’s the stats:
5/27/08: 201 lbs. 6/02/08: 199 lbs. Goal = 185 lbs.
I realize that I only lost two stinkin’ pounds but I had forgotten to weigh in until AFTER I had gotten dressed (which might be worth one pound MAYBE). Either way not very impressive results.
Factors from the week: Eating: I ate slightly better that I had been. The peanut butter and chocolate raids were kept to a minimum. Still did gorge myself on Saturday night with Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and Bratwurst. Alcohol consumption was minimal. Exercising: Non-Existent. I did do 15 push-ups and 15 sit-ups one day last week; not enough to make a difference. What I need to do to improve: Eating: Continue with less junk food. More lean meats, veggies, fruit. Try to avoid my wife’s ploy to keep me large and ignore the butterfingers she purchased at the grocery yesterday. I need to keep eating like I did today for lunch. Take a peek into my lunch pail:
Exercising: Hopefully with some motiviation, I will begin swimming laps at the Y with the left handed swimmer this week (even though we’ll have to go at insanely early times.)
Hopefully, I will be making much greater strides towards my goal by this time next week.
I'm Jad. I'm married to a beautiful wife, live in the beautiful city of Nashville and have a beautiful life. First and foremost, I'm a Christian. Secondarily, I'm an attorney, a musician, and a big 'ol kid.

Jad I am with you on the Ragamuffin challenge. Eating is what I have to control because doing the exercise is no problem.
Keep it up. Let’s see which of the brother loses the most
You can get to 190, but I will try to sabotage you going any lower until after the baby is born.
good luck, man. we’re all rooting for you!
